This is primarily because Apple supports it with the OS.
- Install gdb via Homebrew: brew install gdb Restart taskgated: sudo killall taskgated && exit Reopen a Terminal window and type sudo codesign -vfs gdb-cert /usr/local/bin/gdb.
- Codesign gdb using your certificate: codesign -fs gdb-cert /usr/local/bin/gdb - CHECK IF IT WORKS - Shut down your mac and restart in recovery mode (hold down command-R until apple logo appears).
